Impact Testing Machine are instruments to measure the physical properties of materials including pulp and paper, film, foil, ink, coatings, nonwovens, plastic, rubber, textile, adhesives, ceramic, metal and corrugated. Instruments are available to measure more than 50 properties including adhesion, abrasion, friction, compression, tensile strength, impact, internal bond, softness and thickness.
The Charpy impact test, also known as the Charpy V-notch test, is a standardized high strain-rate test which determines the amount of energy absorbed by a material during fracture. This absorbed energy is a measure of a given material's notch toughness and acts as a tool to study temperature-dependent ductile-brittle transition. It is widely applied in industry, since it is easy to prepare and conduct and results can be obtained quickly and cheaply. A disadvantage is that some results are only comparative. Today it is used in many industries for testing materials used in the construction of pressure vessels and bridges and to determine how storms will affect materials used in them. The qualitative results of the impact test can be used to determine the ductility of a material. If the material breaks on a flat plane, the fracture was brittle, and if the material breaks with jagged edges or shear lips, then the fracture was ductile. Usually a material does not break in just one way or the other, and thus comparing the jagged to flat surface areas of the fracture will give an estimate of the percentage of ductile and brittle fracture.
Pendulum Impact Testing Machine or Charpy Impacter Tester is performed to determine the amount of energy dissipated during fracture of a material under severe loading conditions. The importance of the fracture energy was proved by several catastrophic failures of steel constructions. Body centered cubic metals have a transition temperature, marking a change from ductile fracture to brittle fracture. Other materials, like polymers also show a transition in fracture behavior, for instance at the glass transition temperature. The measurement of the fracture energy at different temperatures allows the determination of these transitions.
Film Impact Tester is designed to precisely measure the impact resistance of plastic films, sheets, laminated films and foils and etc. Drop Dart Impact Tester is designed specifically for use in QC/QA testing for the impact resistance of plastic film, the Free Falling Drop Dart Impact Testers are fully compliant with the requirements of ASTM D1709 and BSENISO 7765-1.
Drop Hammer Impact Tester claims a drop hammer impact testing device is applied to is set in the water of the test piece to impact test it comprises: Base which is set on the first water tank is the base is set on the fixed platform is used for fixing to be tested the test piece; Guide rail through the tower frame vertically set on the said water tank and located on said base seat the upper part of; Free falling component which is set on the guide rail is used for a high position along the guide rail to fall down is set in the water of the test piece to impact.
